How It Works
A chilly morning walk. An afternoon on the sidelines. The trip home after sunset. Cozy Core heated clothing adds adjustable warmth to the layers you already wear.
Getting started comes down to three steps: connect the battery, switch on the heat, and choose a setting that feels comfortable.
How Does Heated Clothing Work?
Heated clothing uses a rechargeable battery to power heating elements built into the fabric. These elements add warmth in specific areas, while the garment’s layers help retain it.
The heating areas depend on the product. A heated vest or jacket provides warmth around the body; heated gloves and socks bring it to your hands and feet. Check your chosen product’s description for its heating layout.
You control the heat using the product’s buttons, so you can adjust it as your day changes.
1. Connect the Battery
Fully charge the battery before your first use, following the instructions supplied with your product.
Find the battery connection, plug it in securely, and place the battery in its designated pocket. Keep the cable tucked away without pulling or sharply bending it.
Use the battery specified for your particular item. Batteries for different styles are not necessarily interchangeable, even when the connectors look similar.
2. Switch On
Use the power button to activate the heating system, following the instructions included with your item.
Give the heating elements a little time to warm up before changing the setting. The warmth may feel different depending on the layers you are wearing and the temperature around you.
Button locations and activation steps vary by style. For paired items such as heated gloves or heated socks, check that both sides are connected and switched on.
3. Adjust Your Warmth
Our heated apparel offers three heat settings: high, medium, and low.
- Low: A lighter level of warmth when you need a little extra comfort.
- Medium: More warmth as the air gets cooler or your activity slows.
- High: The strongest setting when you need additional heat. Reduce it once you feel comfortable.
Choose a setting based on how you feel rather than leaving the heat on high throughout the day. Turn it down as you warm up, and switch it off when you no longer need it.
Follow your product’s instructions to change settings and turn the heating system off.
Wearing Your Heated Layers
A heated vest works well over a shirt or light sweater. Choose a fit that leaves room to move without feeling tight across the chest or shoulders.
For a heated jacket, allow enough space for the layers you plan to wear underneath. In wet or windy conditions, add suitable weather protection where needed.
Heated gloves and socks should also fit comfortably. Check that cuffs, footwear, and battery pockets do not create tight or uncomfortable pressure.
Before ordering, compare the measurements on your chosen product’s size chart with your own measurements.
How Long Does the Battery Last?
Battery runtime varies by product, battery capacity, heat setting, and outdoor conditions. Higher heat uses more power, while a lower setting generally provides longer runtime.
Check the Heating & Runtime information on the individual product page for its estimated hours of use. The runtime listed for a heated vest does not automatically apply to a jacket, gloves, or socks.
For a longer day out, start with a fully charged battery and reduce the heat when you are comfortably warm.
After You Get Home
Switch off the heating system before disconnecting the battery. Remove the battery when putting your heated clothing away.
Before cleaning, always disconnect and remove all batteries. Follow the care label for your specific item—washing instructions can differ between garments, gloves, and socks. Let the item and its connections dry completely before reconnecting the battery.
Use the specified charging equipment, and follow the supplied instructions for charging and storage.
